Plenty of Montreal contractors stop at the end of the island. We do not. Several of our employees live on this side of the bridges, so days here start on site rather than in traffic on the 20.
The territory does not look the same from one end to the other, and that is what makes the work interesting. On the islands, Pincourt and L’Île-Perrot line up bungalows and split-levels lived in by families settled there for decades. Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot and Vaudreuil-Dorion are among the fastest growing cities in Quebec: many houses are young, with a basement and a garage nobody ever finished.
Heading west, the lots open up. Saint-Lazare and Hudson have large wooded properties and houses set further apart, while L’Île-Cadieux fits on a handful of streets. Then the river takes over again: Les Cèdres, Coteau-du-Lac, Les Coteaux, Valleyfield and Beauharnois are waterfront villages and towns, with older housing stock and homes that have already been renovated once or twice before we get there.

In the recent neighbourhoods of Vaudreuil-Dorion or Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot the shell is already there: living area is gained inside, on a sound slab. In the older cores of Valleyfield or Beauharnois it is the opposite — we open things up first to see what previous renovations left behind the walls.
