General contractor in Les Coteaux

The waterfront, and cottages that became year-round homes.

Custom builds, major renovations and home additions. RBQ licence 5865995401.

What the water asks on top.

Les Coteaux runs along Lake Saint-Francis, west of Coteau-du-Lac. Part of its building stock began life as summer places. Many of those houses have been extended, insulated and lived in year-round since, often in stages and rarely by the same hands.

That is what makes the work here interesting: you first have to understand what was added, and when. A 1970s extension set on a cottage foundation does not renovate like the rest of the house. We open it up, we look at how the pieces hold together, and we start again from what is solid.

What people in Les Coteaux ask us.

Our house was extended twice before we bought it. Is that a problem?

Not necessarily, but it gets checked. Successive extensions do not move at the same rate as the original part, and the junctions are where it shows first: a floor dropping, a crack that always comes back in the same corner. We look at those junctions before promising anything.

Are you licensed?

Yes. NDE Construction et Rénovation holds RBQ licence 5865995401. You can check it yourself on the RBQ website, Quebec’s building authority, before signing anything.

What happens at a first meeting?

We come out, we look at what you have, and we listen to what you want to do. Nothing gets priced over the phone on a renovation: what is hidden behind the walls changes the picture too often.

Do you manage the subtrades?

Yes. The electrician, the plumber and the other trades go through us, in the order the job needs them. You deal with one person from beginning to end.

We also work here.
